Al llegar estas noticias a conocimiento de David, movilizó a todo Israel, cruzó el río Jordán y combatió contra los sirios. Pero ellos nuevamente huyeron de David, el cual dio muerte a siete mil hombres de los que estaban a cargo de los carros y a cuarenta mil soldados de infantería. Asimismo dio muerte a Sofac, jefe del ejército sirio.

David was told that; so he gathered all Israel together, passed over the Jordan, came to them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
