El rey, sus asistentes y toda la asamblea de Jerusalén habían acordado celebrar la Pascua, esta vez en el mes segundo, en vez de hacerlo en la fecha establecida, porque aún muchos sacerdotes no se habían purificado, de modo que no había suficientes para la celebración. Además, la gente no se había reunido en Jerusalén.
