Durante las reparaciones del templo se encontró el libro de la ley, y al leérselo al rey Josías, este rasgó sus vestidos al ver cuánto se había apartado Judá. La profetisa Huldá confirmó que el juicio vendría, aunque no en vida de Josías, por haberse humillado.
