Con Esdras regresaron muchos israelitas, entre los cuales había sacerdotes, levitas, cantores, porteros, y sirvientes del templo. Salieron de Babilonia el día primero del mes primero del séptimo año del reinado de Artajerjes, y llegaron a Jerusalén, sin ningún contratiempo, el día primero del mes quinto del mismo año, porque Esdras contaba con la bondadosa ayuda del Señor.

For on the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylon; and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God on him.
