Y el Señor le dijo a Josué: «Hoy he quitado de ustedes la humillación de ser esclavos». Por esta razón el lugar donde se realizó esto se llamó Guilgal, y así se llama todavía. Después de la ceremonia todos descansaron en el campamento hasta que sus heridas sanaron.
