““Go and look toward the sea,” he said to his servant. So the servant went and looked, and he said, “There is nothing there.” Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.””
Elijah has climbed to the top of Carmel and bowed to the ground in prayer with his face between his knees. He sends his servant to look for evidence that the drought is ending.
