Study note

Peter continues his teaching on suffering for doing good (3:17) by pointing once more to Christ. The verses that follow (3:19-22), which speak of Christ proclaiming to spirits in prison, are among the most debated in the New Testament, and faithful interpreters understand them in several ways.
