Study note

Moses is on Mount Sinai after the covenant has been sealed in chapter 24. This brief verse introduces a long section, running through chapter 31, in which the Lord gives instructions for the tabernacle, the portable sanctuary Israel will carry through the wilderness.

Exodus 25:2“Tell the Israelites to bring Me an offering. You are to receive My offering from every man whose heart compels him.
Exodus 25:8And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.
John 1:14The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Hebrews 8:5The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
