““Tell the Israelites, ‘Surely you must keep My Sabbaths, for this will be a sign between Me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.”
The instructions for the tabernacle end with a reminder about the Sabbath, spoken to Moses just before he receives the stone tablets. Rest had already been part of creation and of the Ten Commandments.
