“Is not the whole land before you? Now separate yourself from me. If you go to the left, I will go to the right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left.””
Abram and his nephew Lot have both grown wealthy, and their herdsmen begin to quarrel over limited grazing land. Abram is the elder and the one to whom God promised the land, so he had every right to choose first.
