Study note

After a sobering warning in 6:4-8 about falling away, the writer expresses confidence in his readers and turns to God's promise to Abraham. God confirmed that promise with an oath, so that two unchangeable things, his word and his oath, would strongly encourage those who have fled to him for refuge.
