Study note

This verse introduces a new speech from the Lord to Moses, part of the section often called the Holiness Code. The chapter tells Israel not to imitate the practices of Egypt, which they left, or of Canaan, where they are going, and then sets out boundaries for sexual relationships within families and beyond.
