“And the LORD replied to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man with the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.”
Moses knew he would not enter the promised land and asked God to appoint a leader so the people would not be like sheep without a shepherd. God answered by pointing to Joshua.
