Study note

Psalms 121 is one of the Songs of Ascents, Psalms 120 to 134, which pilgrims likely sang as they traveled up to Jerusalem for the great festivals. The road to Jerusalem wound through hills that could hide robbers and wild animals, and hilltops were also sites of pagan shrines.
