Strength That Does Not Run Out

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary; His understanding is beyond searching out. He gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall. But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 (BSB)Read the whole chapter →

Isaiah is writing to exhausted people who feel forgotten. He reminds them that the Creator of the whole earth never grows tired and that His understanding cannot be measured. That may sound distant, yet the point is deeply personal: this same God gives strength to the weary. The passage is honest that even the young stumble and fall, so no one is asked to be self-sufficient. Strength comes to those who wait on the Lord, and waiting here is not idleness but expectant trust. Today, notice where you are running on your own energy. It may be a job, a family duty or a worry you keep carrying. Stop for a moment, breathe, and tell God you are tired. Then ask for the next measure of strength, and accept rest as part of the answer.

Prayer

Everlasting God, renew my strength today and teach me to wait on You. Amen.
