Aquel mismo día, mientras Elías iba al encuentro del rey Acab, este le había dicho a Abdías: «Debemos recorrer la tierra en busca de arroyos y ríos. Es probable que encontremos pasto para alimentar los caballos y las mulas, porque si no, se van a morir de hambre».
