El Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: Ustedes vieron lo que les hice a Jerusalén y a todas las ciudades de Judá. Como consecuencia de sus actos de maldad yacen ahora en ruinas y cenizas, sin persona viva. Pues mi cólera se descargó contra ellas porque adoraron a otros dioses, «dioses» que ni ellos ni ustedes ni ninguno de sus antepasados conoció jamás.
