2 Thessalonians 2
Berean Standard Bible17 verses · 2 min read
Some had claimed that the day of the Lord had already come, unsettling the church. Paul asks them not to be shaken, explaining that certain events must happen first, including a great rebellion and the revealing of the man of lawlessness, who opposes God and deceives those who refuse the truth. The passage is famously hard, and interpreters differ on who or what holds this figure back. Paul assures them that God chose them for salvation through the Spirit and belief in the truth, and urges them to stand firm and hold to the teachings they received.
