Study note

Paul has just said a tearful farewell to the elders of Ephesus on the beach at Miletus, knowing he would not see them again. Here Luke, writing as a traveling companion, describes how they tore themselves away and sailed on a direct course to Cos, then Rhodes, then Patara on the coast of Lycia.
