“Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “This is what you are to tell the house of Jacob and explain to the sons of Israel:”
Three months after leaving Egypt, Israel camps at the foot of Mount Sinai. Moses goes up the mountain to meet God, and the Lord calls to him and tells him what to say to the people.
