“Then Job answered:”

Job 23:1

Study note

In chapter 22 Eliphaz accused Job outright of specific sins, such as mistreating the poor, and urged him to make peace with God. This verse introduces Job's reply, which turns away from arguing with his friends and toward his longing to find God himself.
