“Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus replied, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?”
Friends have lowered a paralyzed man through a roof, and Jesus has told him his sins are forgiven. The scribes and Pharisees begin to reason in their hearts that only God can forgive sins.
