“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why the unease within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him for the salvation of His presence.”
This verse is the refrain of Psalms 42 and 43, repeated three times with slight variations. The psalmist is mocked by people who ask where his God is, and his tears have become his food day and night.
