Psalms 42
Berean Standard Bible11 verses · 1 min read
This opens the second book of Psalms, sung by the sons of Korah. A soul thirsts for God like a deer panting for streams. The writer, far from the temple and taunted with the question of where his God is, remembers leading worshippers in joyful procession. Now he is downcast and speaks to his own soul, asking why it is so troubled and urging it to hope in God. Waves of sorrow roll over him, yet he trusts the Lord's love by day and his song by night.
