“O LORD my God, I take refuge in You; save me and deliver me from all my pursuers,”

Psalms 7:1

Study note

Psalms 7 carries a heading calling it a shiggaion of David, a term of uncertain meaning, perhaps a passionate or irregular song, sung concerning the words of Cush, a Benjaminite. Nothing else is known of Cush, but the setting suggests slander from someone in Saul's tribe.
