Set Your Mind Above
“Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”
Paul says that if we have been raised with Christ, we should seek the things above, where Christ is seated with God. He adds that our life is hidden with Christ in God. That is a striking image of safety: what matters most about you is held where no one can take it. Setting our minds on things above does not mean escaping earthly life; it means letting heaven's priorities shape how we live here. Our attention is constantly pulled toward news, comparison and worry, so redirecting it takes a decision. Today, choose one moment, perhaps in the morning or at lunch, to pause and fix your thoughts on Christ for two minutes. Then notice how that changes the way you handle a conversation, a task or a temptation later in the day.
Prayer
Lord, lift my eyes above the noise. Let Christ be my center today. Amen.
