Leaving Before You Can See
“Then the LORD said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed through you. ” So Abram departed, as the LORD had directed him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.”
God's call to Abram begins with three hard words: leave, go, trust. There is no map yet, only a promise that a blessing will flow through a man who does not even have a child. August often feels like a doorway: a new school year, a new job, a move, a season of change. Abram shows that faith is not having the whole picture; it is taking the next obedient step while God holds the rest. Notice that the promise in Genesis 12:2 is bigger than Abram himself, since others would be blessed through him. Your next step may matter to people you have not met. Today, write down one thing God has been nudging you to begin or release. Then take the smallest concrete action toward it, such as making a call, sending a message, or clearing a space, and leave the outcome with him.

Prayer
Lord, give me courage to take the step you are asking for, even when I cannot see the road. Go before me and make my life a blessing to others.
