An Easier Yoke
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
Jesus speaks to people who are tired and carrying heavy loads, and He makes a startling offer: come to me and I will give you rest. He does not promise the removal of all work; He offers a yoke, a shared harness, and says it is gentle and light. A yoke joins two animals so they pull together, and the stronger one takes most of the weight. To learn from Him means walking alongside Him at His pace, and He describes Himself as gentle and humble in heart. Many of us are exhausted by trying to carry burdens that were never meant for us alone. Today, name one load you have been dragging by yourself and hand it to Jesus in prayer. Then take a real pause: sit for ten minutes with no phone and no agenda, and simply receive the rest He offers.
Prayer
Jesus, I am tired. I hand You the load I have been carrying alone, and I receive Your rest. Amen.
