Saved, Then Sent

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.”
Ephesians 2:8-10 (BSB)Read the whole chapter →

Paul is clear that salvation is a gift, received by grace through faith, not earned by our efforts. That truth is freeing: no one can boast, and no one is too far gone. But he does not stop there. We are described as God's handiwork, created in Christ for good works prepared in advance for us to walk in. Grace begins with a gift and moves into a life. The good works are not a payment; they are the natural expression of a changed person. Notice too that they are prepared beforehand, which means God has already set up opportunities for us. Today, ask Him to show you one good work waiting for you: an errand for a neighbor, help for a coworker, a moment of listening. Then say yes when it appears.

Prayer

Thank You for saving me by grace. Show me the good work You have prepared for me today. Amen.
