1 Corinthians 8
Berean Standard Bible13 verses · 1 min read
Paul addresses whether believers may eat meat that had been offered to idols. Knowledge can puff people up, but love builds up. Idols are nothing in themselves, since there is one God, the Father, and one Lord, Jesus Christ. Yet not everyone has grasped this, and some with a tender conscience still feel that eating is a kind of idol worship. Those who are confident must not use their freedom in a way that causes a weaker believer to stumble, because Christ died for that person. Paul says he would give up meat altogether rather than cause a brother or sister to fall.
