Joel 3
Berean Standard Bible21 verses · 3 min read
The last chapter looks ahead to a day when God restores Judah and Jerusalem and gathers all nations to the Valley of Jehoshaphat, whose name means the Lord judges, to hold them to account for scattering his people and selling them into slavery. Nations are called to prepare for war and to beat plowshares into swords, a reversal of a famous promise elsewhere. The harvest is ripe and the winepress full, imagery for judgment, while the sun and moon grow dark. Yet the Lord is a refuge for his people, and a fountain will flow from his house. Judah will be inhabited forever, and the Lord dwells in Zion.
