Lamentations 5:1

Study note

Lamentations 5 is the last poem in the book and is a prayer rather than a dirge. Unlike the earlier poems, it is not arranged in an alphabetical pattern, and it reads as a plain, exhausted appeal to God from a people describing their suffering under foreign rule.
