Ecclesiastes 4
Berean Standard Bible16 verses · 2 min read
The Teacher sees the tears of the oppressed with no one to comfort them, and concludes that the dead are better off than the living, and better still is one who has never seen such evil. He observes that much toil comes from envy and rivalry, that the fool folds his hands and ruins himself, and that a handful of quietness is better than two hands full of striving. He also notes that a lonely person with no family works endlessly, whereas two are better than one, and a cord of three strands is not quickly broken. The chapter highlights oppression, envy, and the value of companionship.
