Ecclesiastes 6
Berean Standard Bible12 verses · 1 min read
The Teacher describes a person to whom God has given wealth, possessions, and honor, yet who cannot enjoy them because a stranger consumes them. That is a grievous evil, and he says a stillborn child is better off. Even someone with a hundred children and a long life who cannot enjoy good things and has no proper burial fares poorly. All toil is for the mouth, yet appetite is never satisfied. Better what the eye sees than the wandering of desire. The chapter reflects on the limits of possessions and the futility of desire without contentment.
