Romans 14
Berean Standard Bible23 verses · 3 min read
Paul addresses disagreements in the Roman church over food and holy days, where some believers eat freely and others hold back, some treat one day as special and others treat all days alike. He tells each side to stop despising or judging the other, because each answers to the Lord, who is the one who accepts them. What matters is acting from conviction and honoring God in it. He warns against putting a stumbling block before a weaker brother or sister through the exercise of one's own freedom. The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking but about righteousness, peace and joy, so believers pursue what builds up others.
