Habakkuk 3
Berean Standard Bible19 verses · 2 min read
Habakkuk offers a prayer in the style of a psalm, asking the Lord to repeat his deeds of old and, in wrath, to remember mercy. He recalls God's appearance from Teman in radiant glory, with plague and pestilence before and after him, mountains shaking and nations trembling as God marches through the earth to save his people. The prophet trembles and his lips quiver, yet he decides to wait patiently for the day of calamity. The book ends in a great declaration of trust: though the fig tree does not bud, the vines have no fruit and the fields are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord and take joy in God my Savior, who makes my feet like a deer's.
