Jonah 2
Berean Standard Bible10 verses · 1 min read
From inside the fish, Jonah prays a psalm-like prayer. He recalls calling out to the Lord in distress and being heard from the depths of the grave, hurled into the deep with waves and currents sweeping over him and seaweed wrapped around his head. He thought he was banished from God's sight, yet he looked again toward the holy temple. As his life ebbed away, he remembered the Lord, and his prayer rose to God. He vows to sacrifice with thanksgiving, and declares that salvation comes from the Lord. At God's command the fish vomits Jonah onto dry land. Jesus later refers to the three days as a sign.
