Isaiah 27
Berean Standard Bible13 verses · 2 min read
On that day the Lord will punish Leviathan, the twisting serpent of the sea, a symbol of chaos and evil, with his fierce and mighty sword. In contrast, he sings again of a fruitful vineyard, which he guards and waters night and day; Israel will take root, bud, and blossom, filling the world with fruit. God asks whether he has struck Israel as he struck those who struck it, and explains that his discipline was measured and aimed at removing guilt. The fortified city will lie desolate. Finally, a great trumpet will sound, and those scattered in Assyria and Egypt will come and worship the Lord on Jerusalem's holy mountain.
