Job 14
Berean Standard Bible22 verses · 2 min read
Job reflects on how brief and troubled life is, comparing people to flowers that wither and shadows that disappear. He notes that a tree, if cut down, can sprout again, but a person who dies does not rise. He asks that God hide him in the grave until his anger passes, then remember him. He wonders whether the dead might live again, and says he would wait all his days for his renewal. This is a glimpse of hope in the dark, and later readers see it pointing toward resurrection, while the chapter ends in sober realism.
