Job 2
Berean Standard Bible13 verses · 2 min read
Another scene in heaven repeats the challenge: the accuser says that if Job's own body were touched, he would curse God. God allows it but limits it by sparing his life. Job is struck with painful sores and sits among ashes scraping himself with broken pottery. His wife urges him to curse God and die, but Job asks whether we should accept only good from God. Three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, come to comfort him, and sit silently with him for seven days because his suffering is so great. Their silence is the best comfort in the book; their words come next.
