Job 9
Berean Standard Bible35 verses · 3 min read
Job admits that no one can be right before God, who moves mountains, made the constellations, and does wonders beyond understanding. He wonders how a person could argue a case against someone so powerful, who cannot be summoned to court. He feels God crushes him without cause, and longs for an umpire who could stand between them. Job's words show his sense of the gulf between a mighty God and a fragile human, and his longing for a mediator. Christians often see this longing as pointing toward Christ, though the text itself only expresses Job's yearning.
