Psalms 132
Berean Standard Bible18 verses · 1 min read
The psalm recalls David's determination to find a dwelling place for the Lord, refusing to rest until the ark had a home. The people rejoice as the ark is brought up and pray that the priests be clothed in righteousness and the faithful shout for joy. God swore an oath to David that one of his descendants would sit on his throne, conditioned on obedience to the covenant. The Lord has chosen Zion as his resting place, promises provision for the poor, salvation for the priests, and joy for his people, and says a horn will sprout for David, a lamp for his anointed. Christians often see this promise fulfilled in Jesus.
