Psalms 6
Berean Standard Bible10 verses · 1 min read
David, worn down by illness and sorrow, pleads with God not to rebuke him in anger and asks for mercy and healing. His bones and soul are troubled, he is exhausted from groaning, and he soaks his bed with tears; he also asks how long, and reminds God that the dead do not praise. Then the mood shifts: the Lord has heard his weeping and accepted his prayer, and his enemies will be put to shame. Traditionally counted among the penitential psalms, it shows an honest cry of pain that ends in confidence.
