Psalms 58
Berean Standard Bible11 verses · 1 min read
David sharply rebukes unjust rulers who do not judge fairly, whose hands deal out violence and who are wicked from the womb, like a deaf snake refusing the charmer. He prays that God break their teeth, make them melt like a snail and vanish. The righteous will rejoice at the vengeance, not out of cruelty but because justice is finally done. People will then say that the righteous are rewarded and that there is a God who judges on earth. Readers often see it as a cry for justice left in God's hands.
